Common Purpose Navigator

Broadening the horizons of emerging leaders

What is Common Purpose Navigator?

Common Purpose Navigator is our leadership programme for emerging, high-potential individuals who are tipped as "people to watch" in their organisations or as future leaders in their communities.

What happens on the programme?

In an intensive five days, this residential programme takes participants outside their four walls, giving them a behind-the-scenes view of how society works and addressing some of the key issues facing it.

In every day there is an emphasis on learning by experience. Participants have the opportunity to go on visits in small groups, engage in real-life case studies, challenge leaders in their fields of expertise and debate key issues with them and learn from each other.

What are the benefits?

Common Purpose Navigator aims to give participants:

  • an understanding of how wide-ranging organisations, across the sectors, deal with common issues, showing the differences and similarities

  • the chance to meet and challenge senior decision-makers and leaders from a variety of backgrounds

  • an opportunity to spend an intensive learning week with peers from very different backgrounds and professions

  • insight into and experience of the value of diversity in all its forms

  • encouragement to challenge the views of the people they meet, to step beyond received wisdom.

Where and when is Common Purpose Navigator held?

The programme can be run in a variety of different locations such as universities, training centres or hotels across the UK. It is designed as a residential programme and there are real benefits to having a week to focus on yourself and your development without distractions.

How much does it cost?

The fee for Common Purpose Navigator is £3,500 + VAT.

Ability to pay is not one of the selection criteria and each programme maintains a bursary fund to cover the costs of those who are genuinely unable to meet the full fee. However, every participant is asked to make a contribution.

If you would like to apply for a bursary, please fill in the section of the form for bursary candidates. If you need to discuss this further, please contact us.
