Caroline Duckworth

Managing Director, Common Purpose

Caroline DuckworthCaroline Duckworth is Managing Director for Common Purpose having joined the organisation in 1997 as Senior Programme Director in Bristol and Swindon. Caroline is passionate about developing all leaders to reach their full potential.

She says: “Being part of the growth and development of leaders at all stages of their careers is one of the most challenging and inspiring parts of my role at Common Purpose.”

Born and brought up in the Scottish Borders, Caroline went to University in Aberdeen to study Geography with Economics. A career in retailing then followed with time spent with Habitat, Lewis’s Ltd and Maples Stores plc. All of this took her to live and work in various parts of the UK.

Caroline found out about Common Purpose through her husband Jonathan who was a graduate and contributor to the Coventry programme whilst working in Coventry. When they relocated to the Bristol area Jonathan joined the graduate network in Bristol and discovered a vacancy there for a Senior Programme Director. Caroline quickly progressed from this position to Regional Director, through Operations Director and Chief Operating Officer to her current role as Managing Director.

Caroline and Jonathan have two children, William (1994) and Rosie (1996). As a family they are keen cyclists and sports enthusiasts.
